This Thursday, the regional authorities delivered a new health report with the local situation of the coronavirus, reporting 2 deaths and 32 new cases of the disease.
“Today we must report 2 people who died due to Covid-19, one of them from the Coquimbo commune and another from the city of La Serena, for which we send our most heartfelt condolences to family members and loved ones,” said the Health Ministry, Alejandro Garcia.
Regarding new infections, 32 cases were reported (2 from La Serena, 10 from Coquimbo, 3 from Illapel, 2 from Canela, 3 from Los Vilos, 3 from Salamanca, 4 from Ovalle, 4 from Monte Patria and 1 without notification in the Epivigila system), reaching a cumulative of 11,995 total cases, of which 642 remain active.
For his part, the director (S) of the Coquimbo Health Service, Edgardo González, referred to the number of beds currently available in the Coquimbo region. “Currently, the Assistance Network has 71% occupancy of beds. In other words, of the 1,234 staffed beds, 310 of them are available. In relation to the beds in the Critical Patient Units, we can mention that today we have 12 ICU beds, which are those with mechanical ventilators and 24 ICUs. Units with 84% and 66% occupancy, respectively ”, he mentioned.
Regarding the report of patients hospitalized by Covid, the authority reported that 85 people remain hospitalized and 30 of them remain serious and require mechanical ventilation. Finally, she delivered the report of the health personnel affected by the virus. “We report that there are currently 42 Health Service officials and 10 hospitals that have tested positive for the virus, and 44 are in preventive quarantine. For its part, in Primary Health Care there are 10 officials who have tested positive for the virus and 32 are kept in quarantine.
