The renounced seremi for Women and Gender Equity of Maule, Andrea Obrador (UDI), will be formalized by the theft of a portfolio that contained $ 280,000, which he stole from the La Bodeguita del Medio restaurant in Constitución.
From the Ministry of Women and Gender Equity they reported that Obrador submitted his voluntary resignation, for which he left the position he held.
According to the chief prosecutor for the Constitution, Alexie Crisóstomo, “The complaint against Mrs. Obrador was accepted and immediately both the prosecutor on duty and the Local Constitution Prosecutor’s Office ordered various proceedings in order to prove these facts.”
As the persecutor added, “With the merit of the antecedents, the decision was adopted to request a hearing from the Court of Guarantee of the Constitution in order to formalize charges.”
The complaint was filed by the owner of the restaurant, Rosalia Arellano, who presented as evidence the recording of the local security cameras.
According to the radio station Vivimos la Noticia, from Curicó, the former authority recognized the fact to the owner of the premises and explained that she suffers from an illness, while the UDI has indicated that she will be admitted to a psychiatric clinic for treatment.
Obrador assumed as seremi of Women and Gender Equity at the beginning of the Government of President Sebastián Piñera, in March 2018.
