In order to avoid the arrival of people to the sanctuary of Lo Vásquez, is that since this afternoon a section of Route 68 remains closed for the transit of all types of vehicles -including bicycles- and for pedestrians, a measure that will extend until tomorrow Tuesday.

According to the authorities, Entry is no longer allowed between the Vespucio Link (km 6.2) to the Paso Superior Curauma (km 96.8) from 5:00 p.m. on Monday to 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Additionally, the Costanera Norte highway has its connection to Route 68 closed, that is, it cannot be accessed. The same happens with the Central Litoral Road Network (Route F-90).

Last October 8, the Catholic Church reported its decision to suspend the traditional pilgrimage to the religious center located between Santiago and Valparaíso that takes place on December 8 of each year, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Through a statement, the institution indicated that the ceremony will be held virtually and that the temples will be closed during the day on Tuesday.

“The massive celebrations of faith carried out in other times will give way to new virtual formats that will seek to promote health care and an experience of safe and close faith in times of pandemic,” they said at that time.
