As reported, our country has acquired 10 million doses of vaccines from this laboratory, which will be complemented by the agreements that have been reached with the laboratories of Sinovac, AstraZeneca-Oxford, Jensen – Johnsson & Johnsson and the Covax Alliance. The objective, as indicated by the country’s authorities, is vaccinate the 15 million people that make up the target population in the first semester.

The Government together with the Advisory Council for Vaccines and Immunization (CAVEI) have established the order of priority for the vaccination process. In addition to start with health personnel working in Critical Patient Units, the program contemplates the following priorities, depending on the risk levels of the different groups: First, people deployed in the Covid emergency. Second, the Elderly and the Chronically Ill, prioritizing those from Long Stay Centers. And third, the other groups of the target population, according to their degree of risk.
