An 18-year-old young man was electrocuted during the afternoon of this Monday inside a high school in the municipality of Puente Alto.
After noon, the victim, according to the latest information, participated with other students and a teacher in an electronics course at the Las Nieves Industrial School, located on Avenida Jorge Ross Ossa.
Apparently, when manipulating a motor, he received a strong electric shock, which generated a cardiorespiratory arrest. Despite being transferred to the Sótero del Río Hospital, he died in that healthcare facility.
The adolescent’s own mother accused the delay in the ambulance for first aid for her son, and harshly criticized the Safe Return plan for the students promoted by the Minister of Education, Raúl Figueroa.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Sergio Mendoza of the PDI’s Metropolitan Homicide Brigade provided details of what happened after the first investigation.
The school was not conducting face-to-face classes in the previous months due to the coronavirus pandemic, but yesterday they had returned to class for the fourth middle years.
Against this, some attorneys accused of negligence on the part of the establishment, since – in their opinion – the machines that the students were to use did not have the necessary maintenance after months of being closed the school.
As a result of what happened, a specialized team of the civil police developed the expertise at the scene of the event in order to clarify the scene of what happened and the presumed responsibility of the educational establishment in the death of the adolescent.
