The controversy is going to go around the world: the 14th minute of the Champions League match between PSG and Instambul Basaksehir was played and Pierre Webó, an assistant who was on the Turkish team’s bench, was sent off due to complaints.
The foregoing had been reported by the Romanian Sebastian Coltescu, who served as the fourth judge and who unleashed the scandal: the expelled Webó, as heard in the official broadcast, shouted over and over again: “You can’t say ‘black’! , “Why do you say ‘black’?”.
Indeed, after a while the television signals captured what the fourth official had said to inform the central of the claims: “The black man over there. Go and see who it is. It’s the black man over there. It is not admissible for him to behave like this ”.
There the snowball began to grow, since the game was not played again, supported even by the PSG players, led in this area by Neymar and Mbappé, who, according to the TV images, told the central judge, also Turkish Ovidiu Hategan, who would not play while the fourth official was still on the court.
And although the referee tried to get the actions to be resumed, it was impossible. The Turkish team went to dressing rooms and the French from PSG followed them in solidarity.
Minutes after the suspension, the Turkish team tweeted on their social networks “no to racism”, UEFA’s own campaign.
UEFA finally decided that the match would resume on Wednesday, despite forcing it to be played today. The Turkish cadre, however, refused the proposed solution, which was for the fourth judge to go to the VAR.
