The Colombian Football Federation clarified on the present day that the Argentine coach Claudio Borghi, who currently works as a football commentator, is not one of the candidates to lead the ‘coffee’ team.

Through a statement, the FCF indicated that “the Executive Committee is allowed to inform that the coach Claudio Borghi, at this moment, is not one of the possible candidates to lead our national team ”.

“There is no scheduled meeting with the coach or his representative,” he added.

The agent of ‘Bichi’, Cristian Argiz, had recently told La Cuarta that “I have been talking with Iván Novella (Director of Development and National Teams of Colombia), the right arm of President Ramón Jerusún, who as I understand is still convalescing of coronavirus. As Novella told me, next week Jesurún will be in a position to hold a telematic meeting with Borghi and me”.

In this way, the governing body of Colombian football buries the words of the representative of the former Colo Colo coach. “Our Executive Committee will continue to work hard, in the replacement of Professor Carlos Queiroz”, closed the statement.

At the moment, the current Chilean coach, Reinaldo Rueda, appears as the main candidate to take over the Colombian bank.
