Santiago and 11 other municipalities of the RM advance to phase 3 of the Step by Step plan and another 8 go to Transition

This Wednesday, in a new balance of the coronavirus situation in the country, the Undersecretary for Crime Prevention, Katherine Martorell announced that within the framework of the Step by Step plan, Twelve communes of the Metropolitan Region will advance to the Preparation stage, another 17 at the national level will go to Transition -among which Puente Alto stands out, which has been in confinement for 167 days- (8 of these correspond to the RM) and a total of four communes will go back to quarantine.

As announced by Martorell, the following municipalities of the Metropolitan Region go to this stage from next Monday at 05:00 hours: Tiltil, Calera de Tango, Talagante, Lo Barnechea, Central Station, Peñalolén, Padre Hurtado, Pedro Aguirre Cerda, Lampa, Isla de Maipo, Santiago and Quilicura.

As of Monday, September 28 at 05:00 hours, eight municipalities of the Metropolitan Region advance to this stage: Quinta Normal, Lo Prado, La Pintana, Cerro Navia, Conchalí, Buin, Puente Alto and Lo Espejo.

Meanwhile, another 9 communes in the country will also go to Transition. In the Valparaíso Region, La Cruz advances to transition; in Tarapacá, the commune of Pozo Almonte; in El Maule, Linares passes to this stage; in the Region of Coquimbo, La Serena and Coquimbo; and in Antofagasta, the communes of Mejillones and Antofagasta.

In the case of Los Ríos, Lanco and Panguipulli they regressed to this stage.

In addition, the authority reported that four communes in the country went back to quarantine. Is about Ercilla, Lonquimay and Teodoro Schmidt, in the Araucanía Region; and Coyhaique in Aysén.

The measure will apply from Friday, September 25 at 11:00 p.m.
