The Russian Health Ministry reported today that 14% of volunteers who have participated in clinical trials after the official registration of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus, Sputnik V, have suffered side effects. These symptoms are fever or muscle pain.

“More than 300 people were vaccinated. About 14 percent of them have minor complaints of weakness, minor muscle aches during the day and sometimes have a fever, “said the Minister Mikhail Murashko.

The minister stressed that these types of complications are foreseeable and “are described in the instructions.” In addition, he explained that three large manufacturers have joined the work on the Sputnik V vaccine.

“In parallel, the industrial production of a large number of doses of the vaccine, including lyophilic and liquid forms, is underway. To date, three large manufacturers work in this area. The work is progressing according to the roadmap, ”he said.

On August 11 the Nikolai Gamaleya Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology officially registered the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, which will be produced in cooperation with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RFPI).
