Audax Italiano player Rodrigo Holgado will continue to be under house arrest. This, after the 11th Guarantee Court of Santiago extended the investigation period for an additional 90 days.
Remember that the Argentine striker, on April 28, was involved in the fatal run over of a cyclist in La Cisterna. The soccer player was caught driving drunk.
Holgado’s attorneys asked to change the injunction for night arrest, which was denied.
In addition, they maintained that the audino could not leave his home due to the quarantine that still applies in the Puente Alto district where he resides, with the exception of outings for training, games and psychological treatments.
The conviction of Rodrigo Holgado
Despite the arguments of the player’s defense, the Court rejected the petition, arguing that Holgado violated the house arrest he was in on June 30 and July 1. This, after the Carabineros went to his home to inspect him and could not find him.
Rodrigo Holgado faces a sentence of three years and one day up to five years. In case of being found guilty, he must serve one year in prison.
