The Ministry of Health reported 1,911 new cases and 45 other deaths from coronavirus on Monday throughout the national territory.
The traditional balance from La Moneda was chaired by the head of the portfolio, Enrique Paris, who assured that “we do not want to reach the June curve” this year, for which he called on the population to take care of themselves.
Along these lines, he expressed his concern, as new daily cases, on average per million people, have shown a “sustained trend in recent weeks” upward.
Thus, the Metropolitan region led the count, with 502 new infections. Since September 26, when the capital did not register more than 500 cases, that day 501 were reported.
Meanwhile, the Bío Bío region ranked second, with 398.
In fact, this area is going through a complex situation: its capital, Concepción, is the commune of the country with the most patients capable of infecting others, according to the latest epidemiological report.
With this, 573,830 people have contracted the virus since the beginning of the pandemic and 15,931 have lost their lives with confirmation via PCR.
468 patients are on mechanical ventilation and 54 are in critical condition.
