This Tuesday the health authorities delivered a new balance on the advance of the coronavirus in the country, opportunity where 1,005 new cases were reported.
Of the new infections, 702 correspond to symptomatic people and 287 to people who do not have symptoms. In addition, 16 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 543,087. Of that total, 8,816 patients are in the active stage.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), in the last 24 hours there were 25 deaths due to causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deceased amounts to 15,131 in the country.
To date, 695 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units (ICU), of which 539 are on mechanical ventilation support and 67 are in critical health. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 333 ventilators available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 22,760 PCR tests were reported, reaching a total of 5,118,236 tests analyzed nationwide to date.
The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, referred to the new balance, noting: “New cases confirmed at the national level decrease 2% for the last seven days and 1% for the last 14 days. Meanwhile, 10 regions decreased their new cases in the last seven days and nine in the last 14 days “.
The health authority also stressed that “the positivity for the last week at the national level is 4%.” Likewise, Paris said that the Magallanes region continues to show a significant decrease in the incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, but it continues to be the highest in the country. The regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases are Coquimbo, Atacama, Magallanes and Metropolitana ”.
“1,005 new cases are reported, of which 27% originate from active case search (BAC) and 29% of those notified are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan region, it presents 25% by BAC and 31% of the reported cases are asymptomatic, ”reported Paris.
