During this Sunday, and in the midst of the daily balance due to COVID-19, the Government Spokesperson, Jaime Bellolio, announced new restrictions after the controversy unleashed by the “Fondéate en tu casa” plan.
Along these lines, Bellolio announced that those communes that are in phase 1 will not enjoy the 6-hour temporary permit announced during the week by the Government for September 18, 19 and 20.
“This is a government that listens, it is a government that attends to what the mayors have told us, what some authorities, some people have told us,” he said.
In that line, he added: “In conversations and discussion with the Ministry of Health, here are both undersecretaries, as well as the minister, and together with the President of the Republic we have made the determination that this special transitory permit for the 18th, 19th and September 20 will exclude those communes that are currently in step 1, that is, that are now in quarantine ”.
“We are especially concerned about those 15 communes that have been in that same quarantine for less than 20 days and therefore listening and knowing that our main concern is for people’s health, is that we reaffirm the importance of the plan to stay at home,” he said. .
Likewise, he ratified that “that all those communes that are in step 2, 3, 4 and 5, will have to request this special permit through the Virtual Police Station that involves a maximum of 5 people inside the home, in addition to those who they live in that home and a maximum of 10 people in total if they are outside in a public space, but this will exclude those communes that are currently in step 1 ”.
Let us remember that the announcement generated a great controversy, especially in regions. For example, in the Bío Bío the mayor Sergio Giacaman was summoned by the Executive for questioning the government’s position on the implementation of said permits.
Situation similar to that raised by Claudio Radonich (RN), mayor of Punta Arenas – from the Magallanes region, which currently has the highest incidence rate in the country – who officiated during the week to Minister Enrique Paris on the occasion that they did not deliver the permits contemplated by the plan “Fondéate en tu casa” in their city.
