The regional councilor María Gutiérrez Saavedra (RN), who suffered the burning of his farm in Collipulli, Region of La Araucanía, assured this Monday that has been a victim of harassment since 2014 and that, for this reason, he had already requested police protection.

The accident occurred in the afternoon of this Sunday, when unknown persons burned the house taking advantage of the fact that the affected party went out to buy. The fact was a land that had been vacated by police forces since it remained occupied by a Mapuche community who claim ancestral rights to the lands.

“On Saturday, the Segundo Guajardo community was doing land reclamation, they were going to take a shot, but this situation has been going on since approximately 2014. I asked for an eviction order since the harassment has been going on since then “, Gutiérrez pointed out to Regions Cooperative.

Regarding the effects of the fire, the regional authority explained that “it is burned with total loss, no insurance is involved and i’m unresponsive, I have to see where I’m going to stay later. “

The regional councilor had requested police protection a few days ago, a situation that was being resolved in court.
