Region maintains a downward trend: 19 new cases and 722 active cases are reported

The health authority reported another 19 cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, one of the lowest reports that has been reported in recent weeks.

These are patients from the communes of Ovalle (06), Coquimbo (05), La Serena (03), Andacollo (02), Illapel (01), Salamanca (01) and Combarbalá (01).

In this way, the accumulated number of cases reaches 11,577 and the decline in active infections is maintained, with 722 reported in the health balance.

The seremi of Health, Alejandro García, detailed that there is a 30% occupancy in sanitary residences, with 207 rooms available, reiterating the call to confirmed and suspected cases of Covid_19 to opt for one of these enclosures, calling +569 53331302.

The director (S) of the Coquimbo Health Service, Edgardo González, for his part, highlighted the number of beds currently available in the region. “Today we have a staff of 1,232 beds, of which 315 are available, which represents 69% occupancy. In relation to the beds of the Critical Patient Units, today we have 21 ICU beds, which are those with mechanical ventilators, and 15 ICUs. Units with 73% and 79% occupancy, respectively ”, he mentioned.

Regarding the report of patients hospitalized by Covid-19, the authority reported that 95 people remain hospitalized as a result of the virus and 33 of them are seriously ill and connected to mechanical ventilation. “Also, I would like to add that today we have 194 patients in home hospitalization, of which 68 are hospitalized for Covid,” he said.

Finally, Gonzalez delivered the report of the health personnel affected by the virus. “Today we have 79 officials from the Health Service and 10 hospitals that have tested positive for the virus, and 34 are in preventive quarantine. While, in Primary Health Care, 39 officials have tested positive for the virus and 38 remain in quarantine ”.
