The Intendancy of the La Araucanía region, in coordination with the Onemi Regional Directorate, decided to declare Red alert for the commune of Temuco, due to a Forest fire.

The incident, called Chivilcan 3, has consumed an area to be confirmed of at least 10 hectares of vegetation.

According to information from Conaf, the fire presents a fast forward and develops close to inhabited sectors.

At this moment, three technicians and four Conaf brigades, two aircraft, and Firefighters volunteers are working in emergency control.

With the declaration of Red Alert, all the necessary resources available will be mobilized, in support of those already deployed by Conaf and the National Civil Protection System.

The alert is in effect from this Sunday until the conditions of the accident warrant it.
