The Government put its first offer on the table at the sixth meeting of negotiations on the 2021 salary readjustment of the public sector: it is a 2.3% salary increase for those who earn up to one million pesos, while for the rest the reset will be 0%.
The offer is far from the proposal of the Public Sector Board, made up of 16 organizations under the coordination of the CUT, which aims to obtain an amount close to 4% for the lowest salaries and 3% for salaries greater than 3 million gross pesos.
The organizations also accuse that the Government did not include today the end of conflict bonuses, nor vacation bonuses, raised by the sector, and only offered a bonus of 35 thousand pesos to workers whose salaries are below 519 thousand pesos .
“The figures released today by the government do not represent the demand of the Public Sector Board, it is a setback, and that is why we reject it,” said the president of the National Association of Fiscal Employees (ANEF), José Pérez Debelli.
For her part, Patricia Valderas, president of the National Fenats, said at the end of the new day of meetings that “it seems to us a lack of respect that the Government launches its proposal, starting by denying two bonuses. We are aligned and here no agreement has yet been reached ”.
For her part, the president of the CUT, Bárbara Figueroa, criticized the absence of the Minister of Finance, Ignacio Briones, in the meetings “This only delays and hinders the talks, and shows the lack of will of the Government to resolve the issues of interest to workers, “he said.
This Thursday, the Government and the workers will continue to meet, and the Executive’s objective is to enter the project at the end of this week.
