“I received the call from Minister Paris and Minister Bellolio: They are going to make the official announcement at their press conference that we will be leaving the quarantine on Monday.”

In this way the Mayor of Puente Alto, Germán Codina, reported that the restrictive measure will be lifted for the southern commune of the capital, after more than five months of confinement.

The communal authority affirmed, in conversation with CNN Chile, that “we must be permanently concerned about fulfilling everything necessary to prevent the contagion from spreading and that this endangers the life and health of our neighbors. We will be observing the figures together with the health authorities in case new measures have to be taken “.

In turn, the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, made a call to the Puente Altinos not to neglect the precautions: “First I congratulate you and, secondly, I call on you to strengthen and maintain sanitary measures and prevent the virus from re-emerging ”.

In this way, the capital of the province of Cordillera will come out of isolation after 172 days. It was on April 9 when the quarantine began in that municipality, specifically in the western sector, a measure that was extended to the entire municipality since May 6.

According to what was reported in the epidemiological reports of the Ministry of Health, the sharp drop in cases occurred in recent days. In document number 51, there was a slight drop and reached a total of 589 active cases and a rate of 91.2.
