The latest epidemiological report delivered by the Ministry of Health, with data available as of April 23, revealed that Puente Alto became for the first time the commune with the highest number of Covid-19 in the country.

In this way, it displaced Temuco from the first place, after the outbreak in that area kept the capital of La Araucanía in the lead throughout April.

The capital commune, which to date is in a partial quarantine, which does not include the entirety of its territory, has already reached 688 infected. Meanwhile, Temuco came in second with 644 cases.

Santiago appears in third place (608 cases), followed by Punta Arenas (581) and Chillán (411).

In the previous report, dated April 21, the capital of La Araucanía was in the lead with 605 infections and Puente Alto with 562.

Region by region, the count is led by the Metropolitan (6,700), followed by La Araucanía (1,144), Ñuble (715), Biobío (688) and Magallanes (617).

At the other end of the list, the least infected are Aysén (5), Atacama (21) and Coquimbo (79).
