West High Complexity Prosecutor’s Office reported that Xaviera Rojas Neira, young folklorist murdered in San Bernardo, was raped before her death in December 2019.
The main accused for the facts is Javier Bustamante Bustos, who would have been the material author of the crime against Xaviera Rojas.
For her part, the prosecutor, Paola Zárate, clarified that before she was murdered one of the people involved raped the young woman.
The facts
According to the investigation, the 18-year-old was intercepted on Urmeneta street when she was going to a rehearsal at the San Bernardo House of Culture.
The person who detained her, allegedly Javier Bustamante, went to an abandoned house where she would have attacked and killed with a blunt object.
After this, the accused would have wrapped the body of the young woman in a bedspread to move it in a supermarket cart to the site where it was found.
Formalized by the crime and possible sanction
Javier Bustamante Bustos, is charged with rape and robbery with homicide and risks a penalty that goes from 15 years of deprivation of liberty to a life sentence.
In addition to Bustamante, there were two other people involved, one of them was found dead while serving preventive detention, while the second corresponds to his brother Diego Bustamante charged as he was a co-author of the crime of robbery with intimidation and illegal burial.
