The Prosecutor’s Office referred tonight to the request presented by the Public Criminal Defense Office to annul the future formalization of the Secretary of the Senate, Raúl Guzmán.

As revealed by the Research Unit of Radio Bío Bío, Guzmán, a former regional prosecutor Metropolitano Sur, is being investigated after attending the “Loyola” restaurant in San Miguel in the middle of the quarantine that affected the commune.

Thus, through a statement, the Public Ministry pointed out that they will analyze the presentation of the aforementioned constitutional action, before adopting a “legal position in this regard.”

“It is within the powers that the accused and his defense can enforce, in the current legal framework in our country,” they said.

In any case, the Prosecutor’s Office reiterated their conviction “that there is unlawfulness in the actions of the accused and that their responsibility will be enforced.”

“The Public Ministry reaffirms its commitment to the criminal prosecution of crimes that put people’s health at risk in times of pandemic,” they sentenced.
