Lawyer Patrick Olivares, plaintiff in the case of Ámbar Cornejo in conversation with 24 Hours Central, referred to the arrest of the adolescent’s mother, Denisse Llanos Lazcano, stating that she would be “co-perpetrator of the crime of parricide” and could face the penalty of qualified perpetual imprisonment of 40 years.
“The antecedents we have today have managed to establish and prove the participation of Ámbar’s mother in the commission of her murder., positioning it either by providing the means and resources so that the defendant Bustamante could undertake it, could hide the vestiges of the crime, and also favor its impunity, “explained Olivares.
According to the lawyer, the role of the mother would be that of co-author, “At her own discretion, she would be a co-author and we hope that tomorrow the Public Ministry will formalize her as a co-author of the crime of parricide, since the penalty is much greater than being a cover-up or an accomplice.”
Olivares explained that in the first complaint they had managed to ensure that Denisse Llanos, at least had the quality of cover-up. “It was a bit paradoxical that she had been wandering with the accused. Later we have found video records where both are seen buying clothes for both of them in a store.”
“PART OF THE ELEMENTS USED IN THE CRIME (…) WERE FACILITATED BY LADY LLANOS”
Asked if Ámbar’s mother came to buy or provide supplies or elements for her daughter to be murdered, the lawyer warned that “it is public knowledge, and this has been warned by multiple people who have been interviewed by the mass media , which indicates what was the economic ‘activity’ that Llanos and Bustamante exercised, which was to sell salads at a fair in the sector where they used these so-called ‘coleman’ or containers, and also the plastic wrap “.
Based on the foregoing, it adds that “it is possible to prove at least that part of the elements used in the crime by the accused were granted, were provided by Mrs. Llanos.”
Finally, regarding the penalties that Llanos risks and what the lawyer will ask as the plaintiff, Olivares explained that “he is exposed to the penalties indicated in article 390 of the Penal Code, which defines the criminal type of parricide and even indicates the penalty , and the maximum penalty that this person could face is qualified perpetual imprisonment “.
He added that “effectively we are going to request that, because this type of crime, beyond a legal opinion, cannot occur in our country. Therefore, clearly one through the penalty seeks to establish a role of social control.”
