About 45 minutes before (9:15 am), Santamaría had reported that 11,909 of the 21,281 polling stations were installed in the country, which corresponds to 55% of the total. In addition, he explained that “according to the law, until 11:00 hours the process of setting up tables is followed.”
The representative of Servel assured that “we are in an absolutely normal situation, in relation to the primary elections that we have had” previously in Chile.
“Almost 14 million people can participate not only in the general election, but also, influencing the appointment of the candidates that the pacts will lead to the April 11 elections,” he said.
It should be remembered that in total, there are 87 candidates for regional governors who will compete in the 16 regions, and 103 candidates for mayors in 36 communes.
