The subject accused of having murdered his partner in the commune of La Pintana and who was later arrested in Valdivia was in preventive detention this Sunday, Los Ríos Region, more than 830 kilometers from the Santiago commune.
According to the first antecedents of the case, the crime occurred yesterday Saturday, when the alleged femicide made several cuts with a scissor to the 21-year-old woman, and then asphyxiated her.
“On Saturday morning this defendant suffocated and attacked his partner with a sharp item, thus causing his death“said the persecutor Silvana Silva, of the Intrafamily Violence Unit of the South Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office.
After that, the subject moved to the capital of Los Ríos, while his brother informed the Carabineros of the fact. In Valdivia, meanwhile, he was detained by the Investigative Police.
“Once these events occurred, the defendant notified a relative and fled to Valdivia. Later he was detained in that city by PDI personnel, who transferred him to Santiago for the formalization, “prosecutor Silva continued.
During this day he was made available to the Justice and was formalized for the crime of femicide, hearing in which the precautionary measure of preventive detention was decreed because the freedom of the subject constitutes a “danger to society” and there is also a “danger of flight,” the persecutor explained.

Meanwhile, the Victims and Witnesses Unit of the South Prosecutor’s Office is assisting the victim’s family.
