The Regional Directorate of ONEMI Bío Bío declared Preventive Early Warning regional by frontal system, starting this Wednesday afternoon and until conditions warrant it.
The above, due to frontal system that is coming for this weekend in the south-central part of the country and which would bring with it abundant rainfall, mainly in the foothills and mountains.
According to the information provided by the Chilean Meteorological Directorate (DMC), through its CNA Weather Alert, rainfall of moderate to strong intensity is described in the foothills (between 55-65 mm) and the mountains (70-80 mm) of the Biobío Region, during Friday 29 and Saturday morning, January 30.
Also, the meteorological warning is in force, issued this same Thursday, which foresees probable electrical storms in the Bío Bío region during Saturday, January 30.
According to the regional Onemi website, the declaration of this alert is a state of reinforcement of surveillance, through precise and rigorous monitoring of the risk conditions and the respective vulnerabilities associated with the threat, coordinating and activating the Civil Protection System in order to act promptly in the event of emergency situations.
