In preventive prison was a man accused of twice raping a 75-year-old woman in the commune of Cabrero, Bío Bío region.
The defendant, as stated at the hearing, committed the crimes in the past July 26 and September 16 in the early morning hours.
It was Judge Lía Chepe who determined the precautionary measure requested by the Prosecutor’s Office, both because of the risk it represents for society and for the victim, and also because of the high penalty that risks.
As Radio Bío Bío learned, the older adult would live in a situation of abandonment, and in 2019 she would also have been affected by another act of a sexual nature, but at that time, the investigations they would not have determined the alleged perpetrator.
The period to investigate was set at three months, while the man will be held in preventive detention at the Bío Bío Penitentiary Compliance Center. After a quarantine, their transfer to a compound in Yumbel will be evaluated.
Regarding what happened at dawn on Wednesday, the man allegedly entered the woman’s home, and then assaulted her.
