Preventive detention decreed for accused of femicide on Christmas Eve in Viña del Mar | National

The alleged perpetrator of the femicide that occurred on Christmas Eve in the Miraflores sector in the Viña del Mar commune remained in preventive detention.

The man accused of killing his partner also set fire to the apartment after Carabineros personnel tried to arrest him for this act.

According to what was reported, the situation occurred when police personnel reached the Villa Sol Naciente population of the Jardin city, due to complaints of domestic violence.

Upon entering the house, they noticed the lifeless body of a woman, with multiple puncture wounds, a fact that was corroborated by SAMU personnel.

After discovering what happened, the residents of the sector tried to lynch the accused, who hid inside the home to later set fire with accelerating liquid. After this, he launched himself from the second floor.

Finally, Judge Rodolfo Moreno determined a six-month investigation, as requested by the Prosecutor’s Office.
