Discomfort has caused in the Senate the case of the secretary of the corporation, Raul Guzman . This was recognized this Saturday by the president of the Upper House, Adriana Muñoz (PPD).
Guzmán was sanctioned this week by the Seremi de Salud –with a fine of $ 2.5 million– for attending a seafood restaurant in San Miguel -on June 25-, while the commune was under quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The same fine was applied to the two people who accompanied the secretary of the Corporation that day: the southern prosecutor, Patricio Rosas, and the advisor of the same body, Roberto Contreras.
Today, in conversation with Radio Cooperativa, the parliamentarian stated that “It is a situation that has become complex.”
“At the beginning of this situation, when the secretary’s meeting with other members of the Public Ministry in a restaurant was known, we discussed the issue (…) There is an agreement of the commission to be waiting for the decisions to be taken in Justice “, he claimed.
Along these lines, Muñoz acknowledged, “I am not comfortable and we are not comfortable in the Senate.”
And I add: “I understand that it deserves a follow-up of the decisions that are being taken and to have a conversation, by the way, with Don Raúl and with the Internal Regime Commission to see what procedures we are going to define at this time”.
