Days after the constitutional indictment against him, the former Minister of the Interior, Victor Perez, said not regret leaving the Senate to join the cabinet and that he knew that supporting the police would have a political cost.
The former chief of staff reaffirmed his support for the uniformed police and said that they are “sent to the streets to confront public order. without being prepared and then they are persecuted very harshly ”.
In conversation with La Tercera, regarding whether there have been human rights violationsPérez pointed out that “there is no doubt that in the face of specific facts one can agree with that statement. I don’t deny it ”.
Statements shared by the UDI deputy, Jorge Alessandri, who also criticized the actions of the Prosecutor’s Office in investigations related to the actions of the Carabineros.
