The players of the Paris Saint-Germain and del Basaksehir Turks left the court on Tuesday after the match, on the last day of the group stage of the Champions League, was interrupted by alleged racist insults by the fourth official.

The incident occurred in the 16th minute, after the referee expelled the assistant coach of the Turkish team, the Cameroonian Pierre Webo, after he denounced that the fourth official had given him racist insults.

After the match was interrupted for a few minutes, the Basaksehir players and staff members made the decision to leave the pitch, something the Parisians did as well.

Members of the Turkish bench explained to the main referee, also Romanian Ovidiu Hatega, that his compatriot had called one of the members of the Istanbul team “black”.

But Hatega’s decision was to expel Webo, which added further confusion to the scene.

If the match is not resumed, UEFA could consider Basaksehir (3-0) forfeited, but this decision would have consequences for the final classification of group H, as PSG, Leipzig and Manchester United, who play the other match in Germany, the three reached the last date tied with 9 points, so one of the three will be eliminated.
