President Sebastian Piñera was part this Saturday, telematically, of the Climate Ambition Summit, five years after the Paris Agreement and with a special focus on the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the online meeting, in addition to the President, various authorities were present, such as Boris johnson, British Prime Minister, Emmanuel macron, President of France, and also Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations (UN).
“This is unacceptable, the trillions of dollars needed to recover from Covid is money we are asking for loaned to future generations. We cannot use these resources to block policies that burden future generations with a mountain of debt on a broken planet“said the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Piñera indicated that “the Covid pandemic has dealt a tremendous blow to our economies, to our citizens, to our capacity for growth, to the health and quality of life of our people “.
“Some are posing a false dilemma between economic recovery and environmental protection. This challenge is a tremendous opportunity for us to invest fulfilling both objectives: to advance to carbon neutrality and to recover our economies and our jobs, “said the President.
