During Tuesday’s session, President Sebastián Piñera referred to the
mass vaccination process against the covid-19 that develops in the country.
The president, who is in the Los Ríos region, provided new information regarding the next weeks and the order in which people will be inoculated.
The official calendar reported today by the President is different from one published by some media and that circulated a few days ago.
“Yesterday we began a process of vaccinating teachers, which are approximately 250 thousand, in addition to health workers who represent an equivalent number,” he said.
He mentioned that it began with those over 60 years of age, but also assured that they will vaccinate all of them to provide greater security to the population against this virus.

“I want to share the vaccination plan. We have already announced the priorities and the vaccination plan for the first two weeks. In fact week 3, which begins on February 15, we will continue with the vaccination of adults over 65 to 69 years old, with teachers and health workers older than 60 years, “said the president.
Week 4, which begins on February 22, will be, according to him, an effort to vaccinate the entire lagging population over 65 who have not yet received their dose.
“The fifth week, which begins on March 1, we are going to start the second doses of this vaccination process. This, since both the Sinovac and Pfizer vaccines need two doses “ Piñera explained.
“Week 6, which begins on March 8, we are going to incorporate the chronically ill and people with comorbidity and of course we are going to continue with the second doses of this massive vaccination, ”the president concluded.
In addition to this, the president mentioned that to date they have managed to vaccinate 2 million 182 thousand people in the country, which represents more than 11% of the population of Chile, mentioned regarding the current balance of the process.
