The president of the Republic, Sebastian Piñeraannounced this Friday the delivery of a “Covid Christmas Bonus” for the families most affected by the economic crisis resulting from the pandemic.
The voucher will be given to the families that were benefited with the payment of the sixth Emergency Family Income (IFE), so the Government estimates that about 3.4 million families they will receive this bonus.
The amount is $ 25k for each member of the family group in the case of families of communes without quarantine, while it will amount to $ 55k for each member in the case of communes in quarantine during this last week.
“That means that if there is a family of 10 people, they will receive a Covid Christmas Bonus of $ 550 thousand”, detailed the President, ensuring that “helping people is what a government has to do.”
The President stressed that the benefit seeks to help, for example, those who no longer have pension savings to withdraw, regarding the project that is being discussed in this matter.
