The French Pierre Gasly, Alpha Tauri pilot, won this Sunday in Italy for the first time a Formula 1 Grand Prix, to prevail in a rugged race in the circuit of Monza.
Gasly was seconded by the Spanish Carlos Sainz (McLaren), who achieved the best result of his career, and by the Canadian Walk Lance (Racing Point), who completed the podium.

The British Lewis hamilton (Mercedes), defending champion of the title and leader of the general classification, was eighth, while his teammate Valtteri Bottas finished in fifth place.
The Ferrari drivers had worse luck, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc, who withdrew from the race due to problems with their vehicles.
The German, on the seventh lap, left the competition due to mechanical failure in his brakes; and the Monegasque suffered a hard crash that caused a red flag on lap 24, although, fortunately, without serious consequences for his health.
The next Formula 1 race is scheduled for September 13, when the Grand Prix of Tuscany.
