Peru announced the closure of its beaches from this Tuesday, December 22, to avoid crowds and seek to stop coronavirus infections.

The Minister of Health, Pilar Mazzetti, pointed out that “the beaches will be closed to avoid crowding of people and unnecessary transfers.”

“The risk on the beaches has to do with the agglomeration of people, the non-use of the mask, the consumption of food and that we all talk at that time and has to do with the consumption of liquor,” he explained through a Press conference.

In this way, the measure will run from Tuesday until January 4, according to the newspaper El Comercio.

Finally, the minister indicated that the mandatory social immobilization schedule in the regions of Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad and the province of Santa in Ancash will be from 10:00 p.m. to 04:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, in Metropolitan Lima, Lima Provinces and Callao it will be from 23:00 to 04:00 hours.
