The National Headquarters of Public Affairs of the Investigative Police issued a statement on Thursday afternoon in which it reported the arrest of three officers of the Oriente Robbery Investigation Brigade accused of appropriating the money recovered after clarifying the robbery of a bank in the commune of Las Condes.
“As a result of an investigation by the Department V of“ Internal Affairs ”of the PDI, this afternoon three officials of the Orient Robbery Investigation Brigade were arrested, for his alleged responsibility in the crimes of falsifying an instrument for public use and theft of money”Says the statement.
The text specifies that “The facts that are charged are related to a diligence aimed at clarifying a robbery that affected a bank in the eastern sector of the capital, in July of this year, after which the defendants would have appropriated part of the money recovered ”.
The PDI also reported that “once the antecedents were known, and in parallel to the judicial investigation, the process of dismissal and the immediate suspension of the functions of those involved began.
The institution stressed that “it does not protect, at all, behaviors that are contrary to ethics, values and administrative integrity that are inexcusable for all its staff.”
The aforementioned theft is the one that affected the bank branch of Bice de Apoquindo 4,100, in Las Condes, on the morning of Friday, July 10 of this year. That day a subject took 20 million pesos in 1 minute and 27 seconds. The person responsible was arrested that night and a search was carried out at his home in which cash was seized.
