From a “single list” to a “as unitary as possible”. This is how the mood has been changing in the leaders of the center-left, in the midst of what they called the last attempts to reach a joint agreement in the face of the election of conventional constituents, whose registration deadline ends on January 11.

Convened by the CUT and the group of independents led by the actor Alejandro Goic, the helmsmen of the center-left met again this morning for Zoom, with the aim of reaching a “unitary list” of the sector for those elections or, at least, a system of “complementary lists”.

However, as happened in the first meeting on December 31, not all party presidents participated in the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Goic read a note from the helmsman of the Communist Party, William Teillier, in which, according to different sources, he stated that he would subtract himself from the initiative.

Also, in that “statement”, the community told their peers that from their point of view the best option would be a two-payroll system.

Further, The Broad Front was divided before its participation in this initiative and most of the bloc’s parties withdrew from the meeting. While the leaders of Comunes had not joined for the first meeting, this morning the leadership of Social Convergence continued on its way and decided to withdraw from the initiative.

From that community they stated that they were uncomfortable with the fact that the Communist Party and Chile Dignos were not present at the meeting. In fact, that is what they transmitted to the rest of the conglomerate and the sector.

From those parties in the FA they maintain that it would be difficult to join an action like that without the PC, because as a block they institutionally defined that they would promote a list together with Chile Digno and, furthermore, given that today they are negotiating quotas for the election of conventional , of mayors and regional governors.

Who did make it to the appointment was the president of the Democratic Revolution, Catalina Perez and the former presidential candidate of the bloc, Beatriz Sanchez. According to different presents, Sánchez stressed the importance of achieving unity, while the deputy would have stated that “the realistic thing” would be that there would be no single list.

From the conglomerate they assure that the issue was not discussed as a national table, but that each community defined how to act before this initiative.

With everything, The participants decided to hold another meeting again next Monday.
