This Friday a new balance of the covid-19 situation in the country was made. In this new figures of contagion, deaths and PCR tests performed were delivered.
The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, pointed out that the Metropolitan region presented a drop in positivity to 3%. Meanwhile, Magallanes presented an increase in cases, registering a slight downward trend. However, positivity in the region is still the highest in the country, reaching 30%.
Number of infections
While, 1,860 new cases were reported, which leaves a figure of 430,535 total infections and of these, 15,621 are active.
On the other hand, 69 new deaths were reported as a result of the disease increasing to 11,850 total deaths with positive PCR.
The authorities also reported that there are 918 patients admitted to the ICU, of these 675 are connected to ventilation and there are a total of 459 ventilators available in the network.
Finally, it was indicated that 34,082 PCR tests were performed in the last 24 hours to detect the disease.
Bed occupancy
“An increase is observed in the occupancy of ICU beds, however, the percentages highest are in Coquimbo with 86% and in Valparaíso with 87% ”, Said the Minister of Health.
Despite this, the authority detailed that the use of ICU beds that do not have covid-19 is increasing, while patients with contagion are presenting a downward trend.
