The Minister of Health, Enrique Pariscommented on Tuesday the series of emails released by BioBioChile, where it was made clear that the Epivigila system had serious flaws since its implementation.
According to the content of the emails, from the beginning the Minsal authorities -Jaime Mañalich and Paula Daza- they were aware of what was happening.
The main problems would have been in the “Infectious disease registry monitoring software”, which would not have allowed maintaining a clear registry of those infected by coronavirus.
In this context, the current head of Health came out to support Mañalich and also the Epivigila system, ensuring that everything is working perfectly.
“The Epivigila system is working perfectlyYou know that the reports that we used to give daily – and that we now give three times a week – are based on Epivigila’s studies and records, ”Minister Paris stressed when asked by La Radio during a press briefing.
Along these lines, the Secretary of State remarked that “The entire epidemiological system of the Ministry of Health, the DEIS as well, works perfectly”.
In parallel, the authority pointed out that the emails gave an account of a system that had to adapt to face this unknown pandemic.
“(…) it was also necessary to adapt the case registration system, that’s the only thing that was done,” he said.
“I absolutely rule out that figures have been hidden, that figures have been modified … quite the opposite. I believe that the article or publication made by (radio) BioBio exclusively, surely rather endorses the actions of Minister Mañalich“, He declared.
At the same time, Paris said he felt “very calm” and trusted his people: “the DEIS and epidemiology system of the Ministry works perfectly well.”
The statements were made by Paris during a press point where the agreement with the Sinovac laboratory for the arrival of 20 million vaccines for Covid-19, which will be tested in our country.
