The Carlos Van Buren Hospital in Valparaíso confirmed on Monday the death of one of its officials, who was infected with coronavirus.
According to what was reported by the venue, this is Karen Figueroa Rodríguez (40), a Paramedical Technician from the Medium Surgical Complexity Service.
The woman was caring for her parents, infected with the disease, so she was also affected, recently dying from COVID-19.

In addition, they reported that thanks to Karen’s care for her parents, the latter have presented a possible evolution in recent days.
The hospital expressed its regret at the departure of the official, and asserted that “we will not lower our arms to follow the vocation of public service that Karen showed us.”
Finally, from the administration they expressed their condolences to the family of the fatal victim, as well as to the rest of the workers at the healthcare center.
