This Sunday the journalist Manola Robles, reporter, editor and host of an extensive and distinguished career, in which her name was linked directly with the Cooperativa radio, passed away.

In fact, it was that medium that confirmed the death of the person who until now served as the Opinion editor on its website, with a meaningful article entitled “Dear Manola Robles, goodbye …”.

“Manola, ‘Chica’ or ‘Mano’. It all depended on who he was and when he met her. Manola was formal, with respect; the ‘girl’ was from the radio of the 80s; and ‘Mano’ was common among his new co-workers, when he returned to the media after his ‘diplomatic’ life and got into the digital world “, says Cooperativa in his obituary, adding that he arrived at the station” in 1979, transforming in one of the most emblematic voices of the station’s Press team, in the midst of the dictatorship and the increasingly massive protests against Pinochet ”.

However, his main front was the economic area, a task that he covered not only in Cooperativa, but also in other Chilean and international media.

Among the awards received for his work are the III Latin American Journalism Award (1988), Andina Bottling Journalism Award (1998), Radial Archi Character (1999) and La República University Award (2004).

As communicated through Twitter by the University of Chile -where Robles studied-, his wakes will be held at the offices of said institution, while Cooperativa will carry out a special broadcast in tribute to the journalist.
