A group of deputies made up of Alejandra Sepúlveda (FRVS), Esteban Velásquez (FRVS) and the independent René Alinco developed an initiative that aims to deliver a bonus of $ 500 thousand to people affiliated with the Social Security Institute (IPS) and to those who do not have a balance in their AFPs.
The project is part of the parliamentary idea of carrying out a constitutional modification to allow the withdrawal of a second 10% from the pension funds of the affiliates, to face the economic crisis accentuated by the pandemic.
This project is in its first constitutional process and should continue its discussion in the Constitution Commission of the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies.
In details of the initiative, it is established that this benefit would be delivered through a direct transfer of money, and in an extraordinary way. According to the parliamentary authors of the project, this bonus “will not constitute remuneration or income for any legal effect and, consequently, it will not be taxable or taxable and will not be subject to any discount.”
It should be remembered that the Chamber decided to consolidate several projects related to the new withdrawal being processed, in order to expedite the discussion and processing of the matters.
