In a new health balance, the authorities reported 26 new cases and 1 a deceased person due to Covid-19 in the Coquimbo region.
This was reported by the Alejandro García Health Seremi “we have to report a deceased person in the Coquimbo commune, for which, we send our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones,” he said.
In addition, the Health Authority reported that the region reached 12,338 accumulated cases, of which 444 are active. Regarding the detail by commune, he reported that “10 cases correspond to La Serena, 07 to Coquimbo, 01 to Andacollo, 02 from Illapel, 01 from Canella, 01 from Salamanca, 03 from Ovalle and 01 from Monte Patria.”
Regarding the Health Residences strategy, the Health Authority pointed out “currently we have an occupancy of 24% and 200 rooms available, for which I want to reiterate the call to all people who are a confirmed or suspected case of Covid_19, to who can opt for a residence for free, by calling +56 9 53331302, where professionals from the institution will manage their admission ”.
57 people hospitalized
Regarding the balance of the Assistance Network, Edgardo González, director (S) of the Coquimbo Health Service, pointed out that 57 patients are hospitalized for Covid-19, of which 23 of them are serious and connected to mechanical ventilation.
Regarding the availability of beds, the director reported that “today the region has an endowment of 1,207 beds, of which 307 are available, which represents an occupancy rate of 71%. As for the beds in the Critical Patient Unit, we have 3 in the Intensive Care Unit, which are those with mechanical ventilators and 21 Intermediate Treatment Unit ”.
Finally, he pointed out that, regarding health personnel affected by the virus, 43 officials from the Health Service and from the 10 hospitals have tested positive and 35 are in quarantine. While in Primary Care 5 officials are infected and 26 in quarantine.
