The Undersecretariat of Public Health issued an official letter on Monday that modifies the criteria for granting Medical licenses by coronavirus, detailing that those cases that are suspicious will no longer be licensed for 14 days, but will be for four days.

In the event that the PCR test comes out positive, the license may be extended up to two weeks, according to El Mercurio.

The document maintains that, in case the examination turns out negative, “The medical license associated with this pathology should not be extended, but it will correspond, if necessary, the issuance of a new license according to the predominant symptoms of the clinical picture ”.

However, the main problem is that for medical licenses less than 10 days, the first three are not paid, therefore, those who obtain a license for four days only they will receive the income for one of the days, in the event of not being effectively infected.

The vice president of the Medical College, Patricio Meza, told the morning that it is a sensitive issue and that the workers will be harmed, however, he understands the measure.

“It is difficult for the country, from the point of view of the Health budget, take an examination that comes out negative, and on the fourth day the person may already be healthy, 14 days without work and should be paid for something that does not correspond, “he says.

Fonasa

According to Meza, for public workers attached to Fonasa the payment of every day will correspond, which will protect health officials.

He also explains that “at the moment, the priority is to protect health personnel, since although we have all the fans in the world, if we do not have personnel, it will have a very large impact on health results.”
