Official Gazette publishes new criteria for people entering the country: They are exempted from quarantine if they have a negative PCR carried out up to 72 hours before

People who enter Chile and have a negative PCR test – carried out up to 72 hours before entering the country – will not be obliged to quarantine. This is one of the new sanitary criteria published this Saturday on Official diary.

Specifically, the publication establishes that those who enter the country “must comply with the quarantine measure for 14 days. This measure will be indefinite, until epidemiological conditions allow its suspension. “

However, it was added that “People who have a negative result of a PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 are not obliged to quarantine ″.

Now, if the exam was taken abroad, it must meet two requirements: “This must not be older than 72 hours from the moment of entry to Chile. The test carried out abroad must be by a laboratory recognized by the health authority of that country.”

On the other hand, the Official Gazette also established today that the performance of “religious services, rites and ceremonies of the different religious communities” will be authorized in localities that are in stages 2, 3, 4 or 5 of the Step by Step Plan of the Ministry of Health. This, complying with certain restrictions:

  • The offices, rites or ceremonies may not exceed two hours in duration.
  • The maximum capacity -both in closed and open spaces- cannot exceed one person for every four useful square meters.
  • The sanitary measures that correspond to the stage in which the commune is must be respected.
  • These activities may not be held in communes that are in confinement – either Step 1 (Quarantine) or Step 2 (Transition) – during weekends and holidays.

In the same line, cinemas, theaters and similar will be allowed -no sale or consumption of beverages or food- with up to 50% of its capacity and respecting the physical distance.

Likewise, gyms open to the public may also operate, respecting the following measures: the use of dressing rooms or closed places that are not essential will not be allowed; andn the engine rooms the capacity should be limited one person for every 10 square meters and the distance between each machine must be at least two meters.

In the case of Group classes, meanwhile, cannot have more than 10 people in each room and must be separated by two meters. It also states that they must enable differentiated service hours and that each gym attendant can stay in the place for a maximum of one hour, making use of “just one room or attending a group class.”

Finally, Between each shift, the gym should sanitize the rooms and ventilate them for 30 minutes.

These modifications will take effect from next Monday, October 19.
