At least 12 older adults tested positive for Covid-19 inside a nursing home in the commune of Ñuñoa

The administrator of the Ibero-American Residence confirmed 24 hours ago that one of the campus officials, in charge of food handling, began presenting symptoms a few days ago, in the same period as her daughter, who would be a Public Health official.

Both performed the PCR test and confirmed that they were positive for the new coronavirus.

However, although they indicated from the home that the health protocols were activated, on May 6, several elderly residents began to present symptoms. After performing PCR tests, 12 older adults were registered with Covid-19 and eight other people are awaiting confirmation of their results.

As reported in 24 hours, most of the grandparents have presented mild symptoms, so only one was transferred to the emergency room on May 6 and on Monday he would have returned home.
