The renowned British musician Noel Gallagher emphatically expressed his rejection of the use of a mask to stop the advance of covid-19.
In conversation with The Matt Morgan podcast, Gallagher said about masks that “you’re supposed to wear them in Selfridges (a mall), but you can go to the pub and be surrounded by every fucking idiot. You know what I mean? It’s like , ‘oh, actually, we don’t have the virus in pubs, but we do have it in Selfridges.’
In his argument, the Britpop referent recounted an experience that he had recently lived. “I was going to go to Manchester the other week and a guy said to me ‘can you put the mask on, because the transport police will come up and fine you a thousand pounds? But you don’t have to wear it if you’re eating’. So I was saying ‘Oh Sure, this killer virus that is sweeping the train will come and attack me, but if he sees me eating a sandwich he will leave me alone and ask me, is he having lunch? “
Gallagher was questioned by the interviewer for showing himself contrary to a norm established by the authorities, to which he responded with a falsehood: “listen to me, it’s not a law. Now they are taking away too many fucking freedoms.”
The composer of “Don’t Look Back in Anger” insisted on his point and delivered a resounding response to the use of a mask. “I don’t give a shit. I choose not to wear it and if I get the virus, I have it, and nobody else has it. If all the other idiots wear a mask I won’t take it off, and if I have it, they won’t take it off. I think it’s one nonsense, “he declared.
