“No other case like this”: 3-year-old boy had a stroke after suffering Covid

Doctors are puzzled after a child as young as three years old experiences a stroke, after having fallen ill with Covid-19.

The boy was recovering Thursday at the University of Missouri Children’s and Women’s Hospital in Columbia, USA, after surgery to treat a brain clot, local website KSN-TV reported.

Despite the seriousness of his painting, doctors hope that the child makes a full recovery, as they explained to the local media, adding that their case is a possible example of the neurological effects associated with the coronavirus pandemic.

Camilo Gómez, neurologist at the hospital, said doctors were examining the extent of the link between Covid-19 and these neurological problems.
