Niemann makes history in a day of bogeys

Joaquín Niemann continues to write the books on his own history and also that of Chilean sports. Even with days not as good as this Friday, the national golfer manages to put his name among the greats that this country has given.

This, because despite not having a happy day at the US Open that takes place in New York, the number one in South America in the world ranking became the first Chilean to make the cut in the US Open.

He did it after a meager second day in which he scored with boggeys on holes 3, 8, 12 and 15. Anyway, the closing for Joaking was somewhat sweeter, since in his last hole of the day, the 9 , managed a birdie to finish with +3 on Friday and +1 in the sum.

In addition and in subtraction, Niemann’s passage through the US Open continues to be more positive: yesterday he had already achieved the best position for a Chilean after any round of a major and today, it is said, he became the first in which the cut will pass.
