New arson attack leaves 15 trucks burned in La Araucanía

A new arson attack was registered this Friday in The Araucanía, leaving a balance of 15 trucks completely burned.
According to the information gathered, the incident occurred inside a forest camp in the vicinity of Angol, where unknown persons incinerated the machinery.
Gerardo Cerda, owner of the accident area, harshly criticized the police work, indicating that for more than an hour and a half “There was zero presence of the Carabineros, the PDI and the Prosecutor’s Office. No authority came.”
“This is the abandonment that the Government has in the region, they forgot that the ninth region exists”, he complemented.
Cerda complemented that in the previous one she had received threats of attack but that “nobody took the measurements” necessary to avoid the emergency.
Likewise, the businessman asked President Piñera “to return the trucks to the people who were left without their source of employment as promised.”
Carabineros rules out delay in arriving at the scene
After the Carabineros was accused of arriving late to the scene, Colonel John Cornejo Varela, prefect of Malleco, dismissed these accusations and affirmed that police personnel arrived only five minutes after the call.
“Carabineros receives the call at 00:50 and at 00:55 they were already in the place, that is, five minutes later”, Cornejo assured.
Who claimed that after the timely arrival of the uniformed officers, “an operation with public order personnel was deployed to capture the perpetrators.”
Regarding the facts, the Colonel indicated that “Hooded, they intimidated the night man and proceeded to burn these trucks.”
